My Asia Pop Comicon 2015 Experience

Saturday, July 30, 2016

Since the next Asia Pop Comicon event will happen this month, I figured that I'll have to share my 2015 experience. I know it's too late (Hello!? After a year lang na-post plus 10:30PM na ano na!?). But life has been a pain in the ass for weeks now. So bear with me. :P
Anyhow, I can still remember how Nike, Dale, and I had to rush from the Manila Book Fair to this event just so we can get the 2nd-day pass and a photo op with one of the celebrities available. Juskolord. The line was too long and I think we waited for 30 minutes, more or less. But it was worth it naman! It is my goal to attend the SDCC but this will suffice for now.
We have been waiting for an event that will bring together all the geeks in the country to celebrate and appreciate toys, comics, art, and fandoms, and it finally arrived in the Philippines. For a start, it was pretty promising. That's why I'm looking forward to the next one this year.
Good thing, my brother took a lot of photos that's why I had a lot to share for this post. Haha. Don't worry, I was granted permission to use some of his shots. I remember that I feel like not using my phone that day just because I want to appreciate and absorb everything without taking it out or posting online. A much needed digital detox, you may call it. Anyway, I'll walk you through with what went down during the event.

We got to see Paul Bettany from afar!
While waiting in line with my brother

I took this photo for my friend, Rashmi. XD

That moment you realized Dean Winchester is not that tall in real life. LOL JK.

The kids at heart.

I love how they made this car a piece of art.
Me channeling Rashmi. "Who should I pick?" LOL.

Because adulting is hard, we cannot afford to have our photo taken with Colton Haynes and get an autograph from Nathalie Emmanuel at the same time. But we were really hoping to see her.
Luckily I was able to pull off a paparazzi shot even before they used lights to block the people with not tickets.
It was tiring but definitely fun. I'm hoping for more surprises, and more guests to see & meet. Aside from video games, toys, art, comics, and fandoms, I hope they get to invite authors, too, like how they do it at SDCC. That will definitely complete the package.

That's it for a quick recap and update tonight.

Love lots, xx
