Matte Ruby

I would like to start this post with a disclaimer: I know I'm no beauty expert or a beauty blogger. I never claimed to be one. When I share the items I use, I only tell what's on my mind, what it looks like and what I see. I do not carefully inspect it from packaging to the ingredients nor do I look at them at a microscopic level. I love makeup, I really do. But I also know it's not my forte. That's just my two cents with regard to reviewing lovely items like this.

Anyhow, here's another Avon lipstick I received last year. It's one of their new 2014 items, I believe. If I'm not mistaken, it's their first matte lipstick and I was curious to try it. Everyone was raving about the new Avon Ultra Color Matte Lipstick and I've read good reviews, too. When it comes to packaging, I have to say that this one is my favorite among all the lipsticks I got. It's very sleek, classy, and I love the matte detail which is just being true to the product itself. This shade is Matte Ruby. Anne Curtis was wearing it on their brochure and it looks the right kind of red you need. But upon trying it, it's actually bordering pink-ish for me. I had to look in the mirror twice to make sure since I'm not used to wearing this shade but it's good for those days where you-don't-want-to-be-too-girly-in-pink-and-too-dark-for-the-day. It has the right blend for that. I would say that I will use this in the office more often or in regular days, when you just want to apply powder and lipstick, and you're ready to go!

What is your favorite Avon Ultra Color Matte Lipstick shade? :)

Love lots, xx
