Virus: An Infected Work LifeSaturday, December 28, 2013
It's about time I share with you what I have been up to lately. I have been juggling both work and play at the same time. For the past year, my routine was composed of playing Just Dance on Kinect (it served as my workout), visiting different worlds and meeting new characters through Advance Reading Copies provided by new publishers and authors, writing book reviews and posting my stops for particular blog tours I joined, and if I was able to go out, I would cover events and share outfit posts. I have gotten used to that daily dose of addictive euphoria that I was not able to imagine such a life I have now.
Like what I have shared in this post, I feel truly blessed and grateful for everything that had happened in my life towards the end of this year. It has been anything but great because aside from having an awesome job and the chance to exercise my writing and creative prowess, I was able to meet new friends that I absolutely cherish. These people made working life easier and they made me look forward to going to the office everyday. Virus have opened its doors for me and made me feel that I finally belong, to not just a group or a corporation, but a family. Enough drama and cheese. Let me tell you the highlights of my work life through this new section on my blog, Confessions of a Working Girl.
On my first day, I was able to meet my team and the other departments. I was also able to join the first Social Media team lunch and get to guess their age (I'm really sorry about this). I was also introduced to my new best friend which is this laptop I'm using. I'm expecting we will be together through thick and thin. We will endure all the content planning and social media work clients will throw at us! Towards the end of that month, luckily again, I was able to join the company dinner in Circles at Shangrila Makati. Virus had introduced me to a new work environment where nerf guns are fired to a random target named Jaba, pizza parties are seldom held (you know I'm sarcastic right? Don't get me wrong I LOVE pizzas!) and hunger can really show the worst in people. Believe me.
My day is usually consisted of content planning, checking the accounts I handle, singing some 90s tunes like we're the only people in the room, sharing memes and corny jokes that make us laugh for a while, but make Helen roll on the floor. Plus, I was able to join the annual company Christmas outing held in La Luz, Batangas (yes for the yacht life!).
Being infected by Virus is definitely a wonderful experience made more worthwhile by these crazy ones! Let's work hard and play harder! Cheers to making new memories this 2014!
