Weekend Round-Up (1)

Saturday, August 10, 2013

So I guess this is the proper label I should call it. I have done such before and I wanted it to be more cohesive. Here are the latest news on books, authors and movies.

All bookworms rejoice yesterday, August 09, as we celebrated Book Lovers' Day. Well, isn't like that everyday for us? I wonder how you guys celebrated it? I just read a few books on my To-Be-Read list as always. I will share to you an Oscar winner of the Best Short Film (Animated) which I was able to watch last year, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. It captivated my heart as a reader and a book lover, and it also inspired me to take care of my little friends even more. They were there for me through thick and thin, to make me laugh, cry, and angry, and they brought me to places I could have never imagined. Enjoy!

Here is a once in a lifetime opportunity! Meet not one, not two, but three New York Times bestselling authors! Join Melissa de la Cruz, Alyson Noel and Margaret Stohl for book signing events on September 13 at 6 pm in the Activity Center of Ayala Center Cebu, on September 14 at 4 pm in The Podium Atrium and on September 15 from 2 to 4 pm (200 slots only) in the National Book Store booth at the Manila International Book Fair. This event is made possible by National Bookstore in partnership with Raffles Makati, The Podium and Ayala Center Cebu.
I surely need not to pass up the chance to meet these lovely ladies. I already missed three or four authors earlier this year and I know that this is a must attend event!

EX ON THE BEACH: Ebook Summer Price Promotion*

Here at Exhibit A, we know what makes a good summer: sunshine and blue skies, sipping ice cold beers by a swimming pool, the scent of suntan lotion and the sound of kids laughing and bluebirds tweeting.

Oh, yes. This is how we do it. This is how we soothe away the stresses and strains of our normal working lives and remember how epic it feels just to relax.

Wait! That’s not true. Yes, OK dammit, we do like all that, but do you know what we like more? Murder, mayhem and terrifying phone calls that wake you in the middle of the night. Corruption and vice. Assassinations and abductions. Cool detectives in astonishing locations. Stories that you’ll never forget…

Which is why this year we want to make sure you’re packing some of Exhibit A's first four critically-acclaimed crime novels, along with your beach towel, your flip-flops and your shades – and at a shockingly brilliant discounted price, available for this summer only.

Starting Tuesday--August 06, 2013--and lasting for a limited time, get your beach reads when they’re hot, hot, hot!
