Kreativ Blogger Award

Thursday, June 14, 2012

I have been blogging for years now but I actually hid it from everyone. It served just as I have wanted it. An online diary. An outlet of all my rants, feelings, opinions and random thoughts.

I started with Vox which I learned from my friends, Abi and Danna. I had my own little world there with a few friends to share it with. But when the site shutdown, I feel like a lost puppy, looking for a new place to call my home.

I switched from different blog platforms, looking for that one site that can give me all my needs and satisfy me as a blogger. Then I found my blogger account which I used for a subject in college. Anyhow, now that I felt warm and cozy here, I knew that I have to open up to the world and share all my thoughts on whichever topic I chose, most especially about books and fashion.

I actually thought I would be invisible here. I don't know. Maybe ignored. Forgive me, I just opened my shell and not used to publicly share. But I am very glad that a lot of you appreciate my 'art' and my random what-nots. I am actually overwhelmed for reaching a hundred or more followers. I never thought that could happen.

I was greatly humbled when my "virtual" blogger friend, Marcela of Fashionadictas by Marcela bestowed me this humbling, Kreativ Blogging award last April 26. Sorry for the very delayed post. At first, I can't believe it. I also tried asking her where can I see it because the first time I checked her post, I didn't see my name. Foolish me, looking on the wrong post and now, finally I found it! I know this is not the Oscar type of award that I should be really having a long speech for, but I am so happy for being granted this. I can't help but blabber because of too much happiness.

Thank you so much, Marcela! You are too kind!
Send her some love by visiting her blog:
She combines art and fashion in her posts. I love how she does it. Very creative and a gorgeous gal, too!

There are also a few things to do before embracing it officially. It's somehow sharing and paying it forward. So here's the The Rules of Conduct for the Kreativ Blogger Award:
1. Thank the blogger who gave me the award and provide a link (as above).
2. List 7 interesting things about myself that my readers might find interesting.
3. Nominate 7 other bloggers, provide links, and let them know.

Here are 7 things about me (that I hope) you might find interesting:

1. I never learned how to ride a bike. I know you might be thinking, "You got to be kidding me?!" or "Seriously?!" But really, I didn't. I was too scared to get bruises and scrape my arms or knees. Hey, I tried actually but I didn't push through with it.

2. I love dancing and singing. Yes I do, pretty much. I do conduct my own mini concerts in the bathroom which is the closest thing I can have to a legit concert. I usually have karaoke nights with my friends and because I am too shy to sing in front of a lot of people, even my friends, I tend to croak which does not happens when I am alone. So sometimes, I really need liquid courage to help me. Oh but mind you, I was a part of a concert before. Actually, it is a mini recital where my classmates (in singing lessons) and I have to perform with our family and friends. We were even required to recite a spiel before or after singing which didn't happen for me because they played my song immediately when I reached the stage. But it was a pretty good experience. About dancing, most of my life in school I have been doing that. Not to brag, but that's really my forte.

3. I am a bookworm. A ϟ Potterhead. I love reading so much. It is evident on my posts. I do post my old reviews which I wrote waaaay back. So forgive its shortness. I have more to post and you can see my progress there. I am not really a pro on book-reviewing but I am learning. It is also evident in my "Quote of the Day" segment here. All of those are from the books I've read. I actually plan of doing a new section here for my reviews. Watch out for that. Anyhow, I think a very interesting about me as a book worm, I am very OC. I hate dog earring the pages, opening the books so wide that it may lead to lines on the spine. I love taking care of my books so I expect those who borrow them to do, too. I also love the smell of books. Weird, but it is addicting. Another is that I love editing information for books on my Shelfari account. Yes, I list down every single character, settings, quotes, pages, errors, etc. I know, you might think it's weird but I do that a lot. Follow me there if you love books!

4. I love sports. I am very sporty. I love my PE classes and always looking forward to it. I play volleyball, badminton and basketball when I was in High School. I actually miss the adrenaline rush I feel whenever I play sports because I hardly do it now. For me, playing sports and dancing are way better than doing a routine exercise a day. Those pretty much bore me, the more I do it.

5. I am a homebody. I don't know, I just want to stay at home. When I was in High School, I always insist in doing projects, practicing for our performance in my house because I am not comfortable in staying in other's house. I am very choosy when it comes to food and drinking but too polite to decline, unless the place is one of my closest friends. Haha. I also love hanging out at home with friends than really going out at night unless I need to. I love a peaceful and serene surrounding.

6. I learned to swim when I was in college. Yes, it's embarrassing but I did because one of my PE classes was swimming. I remember when I was about four years old, my sister and I took swimming classes but I had a phobia in jumping in because my mom gave me a push (literally!) in the pull which was 7ft. high or more! I told myself, I will never go back to that class. But whenever we have swimming trips, I told myself that I will teach myself to swim and practice by myself. Usually by the stairs when I was little. So when I a formal training in my PE class, I practiced so hard to learn. I actually improved and it was evident in our summer trip this year. I am not saying that I am already a pro, but I can swim. Yay!

7. The one who shouted "Fuego" when Rizal was shot was actually my great-something-grandfather. Hey, don't judge! We are not evil. According to my grandmother, he was actually a friend of Rizal's but it was his job as a high-rank Spanish soldier. I was actually surprised when I learned about it. Yes, I do have Spanish blood in me. On my paternal side, I think I'll have 1/8 of that. But on my maternal side, I'm quite not sure how I can measure it. I still have to ask my grandparents. According to my dad, we have relatives in Spain but he's not sure if they're still alive or if they have had a offsprings so I don't know how to trace them.

And now the moment we've all been waiting for on who I will nominate/award as a Kreative Blogger. Drum roll please!

Simone's Fashion Closet: I love reading her blog. I love how a creative person she is. I am a fan of her creations. You can really see the dedication and passion she gives in every piece she makes. She is truly the first one to create the Spider+Cobweb necklace!

Nonna Tiwow: She's very nice and I love how her blog varies from her outfits, photography and her DIYs.

V Juliet: I love her DIYs so much. She greatly inspire me of creating my own art and trying out hers too. Always a fan.

Sabrilett's Armoire: Also a very nice blogger. Her style varies from a very sweet look to a very edgy one.

Angelasquared: They love their art so much and very creative in their own ways.

I am the Blue Devil: He is a friend of mine and he's a better writer than me. I hope I can review books like him in the future. His blog varies from fashion, music, books and food.

Smudge and Stipple: I don't know anything about make-up. I am just starting to learn about it and use various kinds. I only use powder, foundation, blush and lippies but because of this girl, I want to explore the world of make-up. She is a friend of mine and though she haven't have a lot of posts yet, she is a promising blogger.

Congratulations to all of you! I hope you will accept the award and participate. No worries if you don’t. I am happy to be able to recommend your blogs as truly great reads!
